News Shows with Green Screen

It’s a common notion that green screen has been used to tell the weather for ages now. In today’s age, however, green screen is no longer used exclusively for the weather. Many News style shows also utilize green screens to create their virtual sets. Sets are now considered "hybrid". What does "hybrid" mean? A hybrid set is part 'live' (ie: the tables, chairs, etc.), part “3D digital” which means that green screens are utilized in filling in the background or rest of the set design. (like live, action films) Designers are creating hi-res, 3D news sets that look absolutely real to be used in conjunction with a live set on green screen sound stages. Green screen is very cost effective, because you can purchase these digital set templates, like newscast, election, etc, in lieu of having to build an entire set. Bravo Studios New York Green Screen has hosted many News related shows. Here are a few of our favorite news related shows that utilize Green Screen.

1. 60 Minutes

60 Minutes is the oldest and most-watched news magazine on television. 60 Minutes highlights America’s most prevalent issues and tells the real story. Topics include politics, pop culture, lifestyle, business, health and more. Bravo Studios New York Green Screen recently got a shout out in their segment. We are honored to be apart of the production of the television show.

2. The Daily Show

The Daily Show is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning show that tackles politics, pop culture, sports, and entertainment through a unique and often humorous eye. Although there is a set for The Daily Show, it also utilizes a hybrid method. When guests come on and they need to teleport their guest or their story to another location outside the set, then green screen is used.

3. News Broadcast Shows

Most news broadcast shows incorporate green screen in their production. Like Fox, NBC, CNN, and other televised news shows. It’s an ideal method because it is cost effective, informative graphics can appear, locations behind the subject can change, and much more.
